As a John L. Scott broker, my mission is transactional excellence and client satisfaction. That means I work tirelessly to make your home buying or selling process as efficient, stress-free and lucrative for you as possible.

Meet Cheryl

After more than 30 years in the real estate industry, Cheryl O’Brien is well versed in the ups and downs of the housing industry. Based in the John L. Scott Gig Harbor office, she works in and “Around the Sound,” from Federal Way to Tacoma and Puyallup to Port Orchard and Bremerton. Her primary focus is single-family homes, waterfront, condominiums and farms.

For the last 20 years, Cheryl has been extremely involved with the REALTOR Association. As a State and National Board of Director for the Washington Association of REALTORS and the National Association of REALTORS, she is an advocate for homeowner rights and is up to date on current trends and issues affecting local communities. She is currently working on issues such as, preserving the mortgage interest tax deduction, flood and disaster insurance relief, responsible lending practices and conservative land development.

Backed by her experience and education, Cheryl takes her job as a transactional guide for her clients seriously. It is her role to advise her clients and be there to answer any questions throughout each sale or purchase. The relationships she has formed over the years have truly been priceless.

In her spare time Cheryl is busy working on updating the 100-year-old Craftsman home that she and her husband, Mike (who is also a JLS broker!) recently purchased in downtown Puyallup. She and Mike also love traveling around the country and visiting local breweries, it’s a delightful way to experience different communities!

Gig Harbor

A lot of people have only heard of Gig Harbor because of Galloping Gerti, but most Puget Sound residents know Gig Harbor for its incredible views, rich maritime heritage, and dining and art scene. Gig Harbor earned the nickname The Maritime City for a good reason. We know that Native Americans fished here because the harbor was safe and calm. Some of the first industry here was boat building and commercial fishing. Today boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, fishing, and whale watching can all be enjoyed just off our docks. During the summer, boaters and kayakers take in summer concerts in the park right from the water. Gig Harbor has a good sense of a small town feel combined with more cosmopolitan features. We have some of the best shopping on the West Sound and a unique blend of restaurants and bars. If you're craving a night in the city though, Seattle and Tacoma are either a drive or a ferry ride away. But what really sets Gig Harbor apart are the people. Everyone you encounter is smiling and friendly. It's like we all know how lucky we are to live in this beautiful town and we want to pass that good fortune along. If you'd like to learn more about Gig Harbor, let us know. We'd love the show here around and help you find your perfect home.
